Charlotte is a PhD student in Archaeology at the University of Cambridge and Natural History Museum in London. She researches how museums shape the nature/culture divide through their classificatory principles and public displays. She focuses on object histories and material cultural analysis of East African mammals and the intangible performances that frame them (from c. 1886 to the present). Her PhD highlights the complex interactions that shaped natural historical collecting and display in Britain and East Africa and contributes to re-imagining nature/culture in museums today.
Charlotte holds a BA (Hons) in History from King’s College, London and completed the MPhil in Heritage Studies at the University of Cambridge in 2023.
