Biography

Paloma Leguizamón is a PhD candidate in Heritage Studies at the 
Brandenburgische Technische Universität (BTU) in Germany. Paloma holds 
a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a master’s degree in 
Anthropology (Archaeology and Bioanthropology research line). Her 
professional experience has focused on cultural heritage, 
archaeological heritage and World Heritage management in Latin 
America. She is also a member of ICOMOS Colombia and part of the World 
Heritage Leadership Program of the International Centre for the Study 
of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). As 
part of her PhD research project, Paloma has joined the Cambridge 
Heritage Research Centre for the Michaelmas term 2025 as a 
postgraduate visiting student researching on the role of heritage in 
post-conflict settings and peace-building processes in Colombia.
